Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

This privacy policy explains how writin.space ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about visitors and members of our site.

Information We Collect

When you visit the site

We do not use analytics or tracking scripts. The only data collected during a normal visit is what your browser sends to our server:

  • IP address — logged by the web server for operational purposes
  • Browser and device information — from standard HTTP request headers
  • Pages visited and timestamps — in server access logs

These logs are retained for a limited period and used solely for site maintenance and security.

When you sign up as a member

If you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — required for account creation, login, and receiving content updates
  • Name — optional, used to personalize your experience
  • Profile image — optional, displayed publicly with your comments and contributions

How login works

This site uses passwordless authentication. When you sign in:

  1. You enter your email address
  2. We send a one-time login link to that inbox
  3. Clicking the link creates a session on your device

We do not store passwords. Session tokens are kept in your browser and expire after a period of inactivity. You can sign out at any time to clear your session.

When you subscribe (paid membership)

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe collects and processes:

  • Payment card information
  • Billing address
  • Transaction history

Stripe's processing of your data is governed by their privacy policy. You can manage your subscription and billing details through your account page on this site.

When you post a comment

Comments posted through Ghost's built-in commenting system are stored on our server and displayed publicly. The information included depends on your membership status:

  • Name (as set in your account)
  • Profile image (if set)
  • The comment text
  • Timestamp

  • Deliver content and site functionality
  • Send email newsletters and updates to subscribers (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Process payments and manage paid memberships
  • Moderate comments and enforce community guidelines
  • Maintain site security and diagnose technical issues
